If you haven’t read my review yet about Divine Rivals, you’re seriously missing out on my enthusiasm for that book, haha. Definitely check that one out first and then come back here!
For those who did read my review, you’ll know that Divine Rivals is my absolute favourite of 2023. That book has a special place in my heart, and I just keep thinking about it. So, the moment I received a proof of Ruthless Vows, I did a little happy dance—I can tell you that. OK, not a little, a big one, and I might have screamed a little. Shhh, haha. Let’s continue with my review of the second book in this stunning Letters of Enchantment duology.
Ross has this way with words that I’m very jealous of. I wish I could write stories like she does, with this magical touch and beautifully crafted sentences. It feels like you step into the world of Iris & Roman the moment you begin reading. The way she describes things is beautiful and kind of touching. It makes you want to read non-stop, and I had a difficult time putting this book down. I had limited reading time, and it was killing me! I just kept thinking about what would happen next!

The twists, the turns, the suspense—it’s just perfect. I think I can say I found a new favourite duology, and it’s going to be hard to beat this. Rebecca knows how to keep your attention all the time.The characters are so well-written, and it’s like they’re your friends and family. Like you are with them in this really tough time they’re having. The way the world is described, the sounds, the smells, just everything. It’s almost poetic.
I could feel the emotions, and I was scared for what could or would happen next. Normally, I can guess a bit about what is happening next, but with this book, it just blew my mind! In a good way. 😊 I could write and talk about Ruthless Vows endlessly, but I don’t want to give any spoilers because you really need to experience this story yourself. What I want to say is, go to your nearest bookstore, preorder it, buy it if they already have it in-store, buy the ebook, or even the audiobook. You won’t regret it.
Final thoughts
I know for sure I’ll reread this duology, Letters of Enchantment, because I simply can’t say goodbye to Roman & Iris. They own a special place in my bookish heart. If you have read Divine Rivals, you should definitely pick up Ruthless Vows as well. If you haven’t… what are you waiting for?? 😉
